The following housekeeping information has been provided for convenience.

Transport and Check-in

Millbrook Resort is about 25 minutes by road from Queenstown airport. Delegates who are flying in to Queenstown airport will be picked up by a CO2CRC courtesy transfer service.  The time of pick up will be in accordance with the arrival flight details which you have provided to us on your registration form.

When you arrive at Queenstown airport, you will find a CO2CRC and/or Millbrook representative waiting for you in the arrivals hall. Look for the CO2CRC welcome sign. Your transport will be waiting kerb-side. If you arrive unexpectedly because of last minute changes to your travel plans, you will need to contact Millbrook Call Freephone: 0800 800 604 (within New Zealand) or +64 3 441 7000 (International)

When you arrive at Millbrook you will be checked in and taken to your accommodation. Check in time is normally  3.00pm but special arrangements will be made for those of you who will arrive an hour or two before check in. Those of you who will arrive on early morning flights may have to wait until your room becomes available.

Delegates who are making their own arrangements to travel to and from Millbrook are advised to ensure that their travel arrangements are well planned and booked. CO2CRC cannot take any responsibility for private travel arrangements.

For those of you who will be taking partners and may require tourist information, the nearest town to Millbrook is Arrowtown, which is just a few minutes by road, or a pleasant 20 minute walk. For information on Arrowtown visit  http://www.arrowtown.org.nz/

Checkout

Checkout time is normally 11.00am. All delegates with confirmed departure flights will be transferred from Millbrook to the airport. A schedule of departure times from Millbrook will be published during the symposium and you will be advised of your pick up time. You will be allocated a departure time in accordance with the departure flight details which you have provided to us on your registration form.  If your departure flight details change you need to advise us as soon possible.
In addition there will also be a courtesy bus service in to Queenstown on Friday morning. If you require this service you will be required to advise us on day one of the symposium. Further details will be provided during the symposium. 

Breakfast

Breakfast for symposium delegates will be served daily between 6 and 8am in both the Clubhouse Brasserie  and the Pavilion. Whilst having breakfast in the Pavilion you will be able to view the poster exhibition.
It is possible that a third location, the Hole in One Bar, may be available for early morning small group breakfast meetings. Further details will be provided. if you are planning to hold a small group meeting you need to advise CO2CRC prior to Friday November 28th.

Amenities

Recreational facilities available at Millbrook include:

  • 18-hole championship golf course
  • The Spa at Millbrook
  • Health & fitness centre
  • Indoor swimming pool
  • Tennis courts
  • Mountain bikes

Note that delegates will have free access to the health and fitness centre and indoor swimming pool during the symposium but there will be a cost to access all other recreational activities. Symposium Dinner

The Symposium dinner is being held on Wednesday 3rd December at the Skyline Gondola Restaurant in Queenstown. Buses will transfer you from Millbrook to Queenstown. There will be four buses, departing at 6.00pm, 6.10pm, 6.20pm and 6.30pm. You will not be allocated to any particular bus. They will fill on a first come basis. The trip from Millbrook to Queenstown will take approximately 30 minutes. On arrival at Skyline you will receive a welcome drink and be transferred in to four person gondolas for the eight minute cable lift journey to the summit. At the summit there will be viewing and pre dinner drinks prior to sit down in the restaurant at 7.30pm.

Coaches will be scheduled to take you back to Millbrook departing at 10.15pm, 10.30pm, 10.45pm and 11.00pm. Again, coaches will be filled on a first come basis.

Awards

A number of awards will be presented at the dinner on Thursday night. All delegates are invited to vote for both the poster and the presentation oral presentation which they consider to have the best scientific merit and visual appeal and which best supports deployment of CCS. Each delegate has been provided with one voting card, these are in the back of the plastic sleeve that holds your name tag. Additional voting cards will not be provided. Please place your vote in the box provided at the registration desk no later than 4pm on Thursday. Votes received after this time will not be counted.
